Terms of use

Typoria turns a Word manuscript into a typeset, print-ready book, and lets you refine it by describing changes in plain language. It is a tool. The judgement about whether a book is correct, complete and fit to print stays with you.

You need an account, and the details you give must be accurate. Keep your sign-in and any API keys to yourself: activity through them counts as yours. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got in. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.

You keep every right you had in the manuscripts you upload and the books you build. Nothing here transfers ownership.

You give us permission to store your files and process them, including sending the necessary parts to the providers named in the privacy policy, purely so we can do what you asked. That permission exists to run the service and ends when you delete the content or close your account.

You are responsible for having the right to use what you upload, including text, photographs and logos.

Do not use Typoria to:

• produce material that is unlawful, or that infringes someone else's copyright
• upload someone else's manuscript that you have no right to use
• attack, overload or probe the service, or work around usage limits
• resell access to the service as if it were your own product, without agreeing that with us first

Prompt limits apply per account and are shown in the app. They exist so that one account cannot exhaust the service for everyone else.

The editing assistant works by checking its own results against the document, and it reports what actually changed rather than what it intended. That makes it careful, not infallible. It can misread an instruction, and a design it proposes can be wrong for your book.

Read the proof before you print. Printing is expensive and irreversible, and we cannot be responsible for the cost of a print run based on a file nobody checked.

Typoria is early software, offered as it is. We aim to keep it available and your files safe, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and features may change as the product develops. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose; every version is downloadable at any time.

Paid plans are not yet in place. When they arrive, prices and terms will be shown before you are asked for anything, and continuing to use a free account will never quietly become a charge.

You can stop using Typoria and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk; where it is reasonable to do so, we will say why first and give you a chance to get your files.

Typoria is provided without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost business or the cost of reprinting. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Zambia, and the courts of Zambia have jurisdiction over any dispute.

We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we will say so in the app before it takes effect, and the date at the top shows the current version.
